Chicken wings fans everywhere can rejoice: Buffalo Wild Wings is coming to the Upper Peninsula.

The Marquette location is scheduled for an early-June opening with a tentative date of June 6 circled on the calendar. According to Jake Miller, the restaurant’s general manager, the construction crews are on schedule at the 2492 US 41 West address. It is located right next to Country Inn and Suites.

“We’re hiring right now in anticipation of the opening,” Miller says. “We’ve had more than 250 applications, which is growing every day, and we’ll be hiring people over the next two weeks.”

The new location, one of 11 Buffalo Wild Wings franchise locations operated by Michigan-based Diversified Restaurant Holding, will employ 115 people in various positions. The location is scheduled to be open seven days a week with operating hours slated for 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday with Sunday hours expected to be from noon until midnight.

“We’re really looking forward to the opening,” says Miller. “Marquette is a great place with great people. We’re happy to be here.”

In addition to having Buffalo Wild Wings’ regular menu, the Marquette location will also boast 20 beers on tap, including some local breweries such as Keweenaw Brewing Company, though the exact brew wasn’t disclosed.

There will be 50-inch televisions as well as a patio for seasonal outdoor dining.

“If you’ve been to the one in Petoskey, we’re going to be build just like they are,” says Miller.
