Three businesses all in one building held a recent grand opening ceremony in Sault Ste. Marie.

At 107 East Portage Avenue, the new occupants are Bird’s Eye Outfitters, Bird’s Eye Adventures and Superior Coffee Roasting. Sault Area Chamber of Commerce, customers, friends, family, and local officials joined them in a ribbon cutting event.

The first two are owned by Ken and Wilda Hopper. Bird’s Eye Outfitters is an outdoors goods store with a wide array of the latest products, and Bird’s Eye Adventures, an adventure guide and tour company serving the region. Superior Coffee is owned by Ron Kurnik and is supplying roasted coffee to stores and restaurants across the U.P.

All together, the three offer up a welcoming, outdoorsy atmosphere with an unmistakable whiff of great coffee and pastries added to it. A cafe also welcomes patrons to sit and have a cup after browsing the store.
