A new destination for coffee, baked goods now open in Chatham

The Chatham Depot is now open in Alger County, and coffee and a wide variety of baked goods await you.

If you’ve ever been through Chatham in the winter, then you are well aware that it’s not lacking in either snow or cold temperatures.

Well, now you can add no lack of coffee and scrumptious baked goods to the list. The Chatham Depot Coffee Shop and Bakery recently opened its doors at N5314 Rock River Road in the small Alger County town.

The former railroad depot building sat vacant for quite some time, but now the aromas of coffee, tea and an ever-changing lineup of tasty baked treats waft from it. The location — which is right on a snowmobile trail and right off of M-94, features new hardwood floors, booths and comfy sofa to relax on while you enjoy your coffee (only $1.50 with free refills for dine-in service!).

The baked goods list changes daily, but some examples of what they have to offer include pies, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, cookies, cakes, breads and much more. They can even provide you with baked goods for that special occasion, so if you’re in the hunt for a personalized cake, they can help you out.

For more information, and to keep up with their changing baked goods lineup, follow the Chatham Depot on Facebook.
