Debacker Family Dairy to open new Escanaba store

The Debacker Family Dairy is a solid hit among Upper Peninsula consumers with its small-farm approach to milk, yogurt and ice cream on local grocery store shelves. 

So much so, in fact, that the family-owned dairy in Daggett has opened a retail location in Menominee and is planning another coming soon to Escanaba. Tracy and Terry Debacker, husband-and-wife owners of the dairy, have found success with their glass-bottled milk and small-batch ice cream in Angeli’s, Econo Foods, and IGA groceries across the U.P. Their low-processing, cream-style products have struck the right note, being natural-focused and, of course, locally produced, two things that many shoppers are looking for these days. 

The current Menominee retail location offers a full-service ice cream parlor as well as milk, ice cream, meat, cheese, pizza and flour, all locally made. The Escanaba store can be expected to be similar, and will be located on U.S. 2 and M35 across from the U.P. State Fair grounds.
