Dickinson Pediatric Clinic expands, doubling in size

Patients to the Dickinson Pediatric Clinic have a lot more room this fall, after the clinic, part of the Dickinson County Healthcare System, moved into a newly-renovated space in the Dickinson Medical Building.

Previously the Dickinson Occupational Clinic offices, the new pediatrics space doubles in size, with more specialty programs, and more room for both staff and patients. A new waiting room, twice the size of the previous one, offers a larger receptionist area, and educational television broadcasting children’s health information.

The clinic now has 15 exam rooms versus its former eight. All are decorated with children’s characters and themes for a friendly atmosphere. One exam room is specially for sports injuries, and includes concussion testing equipment. Another is equipped for telemedicine to connect patients to out-of-hospital specialists like pediatric neurologists.

Dickinson Pediatric Clinic now also has space to host visiting pediatric specialists, a designated nurses’ station and other specialized work areas, all of which offer increased efficiency and privacy for patients.
