A permanent pavilion on the grounds of the International 500 in Sault Ste. Marie would provide a warm spot for fans to watch the popular winter race. Officials hope to raise $50,000 and receive a matching grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Berry surpasses $10 million in donations to NMU

“I was a young kid, still wet behind the ears, when I arrived on campus. But Northern provided a great foundation that helped me grow and mature, along with valuable preparation for life’s many challenges,” said John Berry Jr., who along with his wife, Shirley, are the largest donors in NMU's history.
