Work is progressing fast on a new building near Target in Marquette, to be the new Jandron’s Retail Center.

It’ll provide a new home for jewelry store icon Jandron’s Fine Jewelry, which has anchored the Westwood Mall in Marquette for decades. The new building will be occupied by Jandron’s in a 3,000-square-foot space, with an additional 4,500 square feet of space available for lease for other retailers.

The family-owned jewelry store opened in 1989. Construction started on the new center, located on County Road HQ off Wright Street, in June, and the project is being developed by L.R. Swadley of Swadley Development, according to the Lake Superior Community Partnership. It’s slated for completion in early winter.
