Frannie Belton named coordinator at Marquette Alger College Access Network

The Marquette Alger College Access Network took steps recently to help streamline communication between the organization’s executive leadership team and the network of community partnerships that collaborate with them to help achieve the program’s goals.

Frannie Belton was named as the network coordinator for MACAN, and will work to help the program reach it’s mission of reducing challenges and barriers that prevent students from pursuing post-secondary education or certification.

“Communities play an integral role in the success of young people,” says Belton . “I am impressed with the groundwork that the MACAN leadership team and network partners put in place thus far. Such a strong foundation provides ample opportunities for growth as the network develops and implements strategies to increase post-secondary education attainment in Marquette and Alger counties.”

Belton is no stranger to the types of programs being run by MACAN. She previously worked for the University of Illinois on community and youth programs designed to help increase educational opportunities in rural Illinois.
