Malone’s Lens: Frozen in time

Brrrrrr! It’s been a little chilly out there this winter, hasn’t it? Plenty of snow, too!

But, hey, we’re not complaining. It’s good for the economy (hello, snowmobilers!) and it’s great for the lakes, which have been needing a strong winter like this to bring the water levels back up.

Shawn Malone, our managing photographer, snagged this gorgeous photo of a lighthouse overlooking the frozen sheet that Lake Superior became this winter. It’s chillingly beautiful, isn’t it? It’s the Eagle River lighthouse on the Keweenaw Peninsula.
