Michael’s Fine Jewelry has new owner

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When you think of fine jewelry in the Upper Peninsula, only a few stores usually pop to mind.

One of them, it just so happens, is probably Michael’s Fine Jewelry in Iron Mountain.

The company recently announced that its owner, Michael Frankini, has decided to enter retirement. The Frankini Family has been focused on fine jewelry and giftware dating back to 1917.

Frankini announced his retirement nearly in the same breath that he announced that the company will be sold to Catie Schultz, a long-time associate at Michael’s Fine Jewelry. The staff is expected to remain the same with the addition of a few new employees to help continue to meet customer needs and expectations.

The company, located at 332 South Stevenson Ave., will continue to provide jewelry and watch-repair service.
