Operation Action U.P. honors four businesses with ‘Excellence’ awards

The recipients were recognized for their significant contributions to the economic well-being of the U.P.

What’s happening: Operation Action U.P. has awarded four businesses with its 2025 Award of Excellence. The recipients were recognized for their significant contributions to the economic well-being of the U.P. They were honored at an annual gathering at the Northern Center Ballroom at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. The event included members of Operation Action U.P. and the Upper Peninsula Economic Development Alliance and business leaders.

The recipients: Burton Electronic Manufacturing Services, Inc., an electronics manufacturing services company that provides OEM customers with customized manufacturing solutions; ; Cloverland Electric Cooperative, a not-for-profit, member-owned electric utility serving the eastern U.P.; G & J Site Solutions, Inc., a site-work and environmental services contractor specializing in erosion control, site stablization, landscaping and highway safety; and Great Lake Sound and Vibration, which designs and builds products that make tanks, trucks, ships and aircraft quiet to create a decisive advantage for the U.S. Department of War.

About the annual meeting: The meeting serves as an opportunity to reflect on accomplishments, strengthen partnerships, and reinforce Operat Action U.P.’s commitment to supporting business growth and economic vitality across the U.P., according to a new release from the organization.
