Outdoor Innovation Pitch Competition open for applications

Applications are being accepted for the Outdoor Innovation Pitch Competition at Northern Michigan University in Marquette in February.

What’s happening: Applications are open for the annual Outdoor Innovation Pitch Competition, which will be held February 20-21 on the campus of Northern Michigan University in Marquette. This marks Peak25’s second year hosting the Outdoor Innovation Pitch in partnership with sponsors, the Michigan Outdoor Innovation Fund and Centrepolis Accelerator

About the pitch: Pitch competition finalists will pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges live on stage on Friday, February 21, at the Forest Roberts Theatre on Northern Michigan University’s campus in Marquette. Grand Prize: Up to $50,000 in investment from the Michigan Outdoor Innovation Fund. Make it in Michigan Award: Up to $5,000 in services sponsored by Centrepolis Accelerator and Innovate Marquette. 

Who is eligible: Any Michigan-based startup company. Eligible companies must be focused on outdoor recreation. Eligible companies should have received less than $2,500,000 in private-sector investments. Eligible companies should have less than $1,500,000 in revenue in the immediately preceding 12-month period.

What is Peak25: It’s a conference co-hosted by Innovate Marquette and SISU: The Innovation Institute at Northern Michigan University. The event features internationally renowned keynote speakers, interactive workshops, a sustainability design jam, outdoor innovation showcase, and pitch competitions.
