Roller derby isn’t just something for bustling metropolises and angsty teenagers. The average age is 30 years old and the Upper Peninsula is now home to an up-and-coming roller derby team, the Kingsford Krush.
Our friends over at Things To Do In The Upper Peninsula must have been reading our minds last week when they stopped over at the U.P. Beer Festival in Marquette. Not only is it a great place to try the best of craft beer from around the state, it's also an amazing place to meet some very cool cats.
Residents of the Upper Peninsula, or Yoopers as they’re fondly called, are a unique bunch. Jokes are often made about speech patterns or simplistic lifestyles, and one born and raised Yooper has found a way to use those jokes in a new business venture.
