The Manistique paper mill, which has had a rocky off and on history of opening and closing, is slated for reopening under a new owner.

Last shut down in 2015, it was then owned by FutureMark Manistique.

The mill has been bought by a new company, UP Paper LLC, according to the Escanaba Daily Press. The company is made up of the Zellar family, which owns Zellar Excavating, and a group of other investors.

It’ll be open as early as this week, and will employ about 90 people. Heading up the operation is president and CEO Lars Dannberg.
