Program offers opportunities for those often forgotten by the foster care system
"Aging out" of the foster care system leaves young adults on their own in the world, often with little or no instruction or guidance on how to build a successful life. The Michigan Youth Opportunity Initiative is a new program that offers youths from foster homes support and common sense information as they learn to live in the "real world."

You'd think the U.P. has it covered when it comes to green. Miles and miles of forests and beautiful lakes make it a beloved, pristine wilderness. But when it comes to garbage or items that might be reused, things aren't looking so green. A high percentage still end up languishing in local landfills because of inconvenience and lack of recycling facilities.
