New restaurant Rustic Grill open in Sault Ste. Marie

A new restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie recently opened in a nice highway location on M-28.

The Rustic Grill offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a full menu, and is at 8936 South Mackinac Trail, on the corner of M-28 and Mackinac Trail, formerly a restaurant and motel which was closed in 2008.

The motel part of the property has since been torn down, and the restaurant is now reopening after some restoration and remodeling, which, incidentally, preserves the original cedar logs harvested locally.

It’s all thanks to new owner Sherri Bloomfield, who has put together a menu including fresh whitefish, burgers, and turkey and ham roasted in the restaurant daily.

The Rustic Grill is open daily, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
