TEAM Wireless plans headquarters in Escanaba

Northern Michigan and Wisconsin phone and internet company TEAM Wireless is building a new corporate headquarters in Escanaba.
 
It already has two locations in Escanaba, at 2220 6^th Avenue North, which also serves as its corporate office currently, and a new location at the former Arby’s restaurant at 314 Lincoln Avenue. That one just opened at the end of 2014.
 
Now, the company is posting renderings of a new building to be constructed at 1008 North 30^th Street, formerly owned by the manufacturer Harnischfeger, which closed its plant in Escanaba in the early 1980s.
 
In October, TEAM Wireless applied to have the 11-acre site on the corner of North 30^th Street and Ninth Avenue North rezoned for commercial use from heavy manufacturing. At a city planning commission meeting at that time, the estimated investment going into the new corporate headquarters was $1.1 million. The timeline is planned for construction to be done in the fall of 2015.
 
TEAM Wireless serves customers with cell phone, smart phone, wireless accessories and Internet needs. It has 32 stores across Michigan and Wisconsin.
