Michigan Technological University has a new dean of its school of business and economics.

Gene Klippel was named dean, to take over from Darrell Radson, who left the university in May. Klippel will be dean as of July 1. He was previously the dean from 1994 to 2003, during which time he led an effort to get the business and economics school accredited by its accrediting institution, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

“Dr. Klippel’s strong leadership and communication skills will be vital in achieving the SBE’s mission,” says Dean Johnson, business and economics professor. “We look forward to him building relationships with the Michigan Tech community and alumni.”

Klippel’s previous positions also have included dean of the college of management at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and dean of the college of business at the University of Southern Indiana.
