Marquette Community Federal Credit Union opens Harvey branch to better serve its 10,000 members

Members of the Marquette Community Federal Credit Union who reside in Harvey and beyond won’t have to make a drive into the city limits each time they want to do their banking.
Instead, the credit union recently opened the doors to its new Harvey Branch office.
The new location is at the intersection of US 41 South and Cherry Creek Road, across the street from Jacks’ Super Serve.
The branch will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday as well as 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday. The office will include all services like deposit and even a loan officer. There will also be an ATM available for customer use.
“The reason we opened this branch was because our business plan is that we continually grow,” says Jim Lori, the credit union’s CEO. “We did a demographics study and found that area has been growing and is expected to continue growing. We also knew that about 20 percent of our current members live in that area. It just made sense to open a branch in Harvey.”
The branch moved into an available building that had previously been a bank, enabling them to offer services almost immediately.
“We’ve been getting new members almost daily,” says Lori.
By opening the second branch, Lori says the credit union has been able to reduce long lines in their Marquette Branch, as well as make financial transactions more convenient for the members who reside around the Harvey area.
Currently there are just over 10,000 members of the Marquette Community Federal Credit Union. They have over $50 million in assets.
