"After a rigorous interview and community engagement process, Dr. Brock Tessman rose to the top as the clear choice for the next NMU president,” says NMU Board Chair Steve Young.

“We want to see our students use their hands for physical engineering, and that happens in measurement,” says Rachel Store, Michigan Tech research engineer and head of the Nucor Metrology Center. “The students will take data to document their product performance, all while better understanding their product quality through metrics.”
“We’re excited to see this project moving into the final stages, because everyone has put in a lot of time and effort to get it right for the community and for our customers,” says Lori Burford, DNR shooting range specialist.
“Sustainable fisheries management is imperative not only for the long-term health of the fisheries but for the Great Lakes ecosystem as a whole,” says Matt Womble, Saildrone director of ocean data programs.
“The hope is that students can declare this minor and have met all of the educational requirements here, and hopefully really boost the workforce for the substance use treatment field in the Upper Peninsula,” says Elissa Kent, an NMU social work instructor who helped develop the new substance use academic minor.
“Kids Cove will transform underused space into an inclusive, safe and accessible playground that can be enjoyed by kids of all abilities,” says Michele Wildman, MEDC's executive vice president of Economic Development Incentives.
“Our goal is to “Re-Activate” a public space that was widely used but has exceeded its useful life cycle,” says Craig Cugini, a member of the South Shore Fishing Association.
