Superior Outfitters opens doors in downtown Marquette

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Rumor over at the old Chatham ski hill was that there is a new place to pick up used athletic and outdoor equipment, including skis and snowboards that would make coming down the community slope quite a bit of a blast.

That place, it just so happens, is Superior Outfitters, which recently opened up shop in downtown Marquette right at 209 S. Front St. — the former home of Switchback Gear Exchange.

Owner Nick Simon is no stranger to the business of used — but still in great shape — gear. That’s because he was one of the employees at Switchback before it closed up shop.

The real focus of the shop is fishing gear (a real breath of fresh air when you’re looking for knowledgeable sales in that department), but customers will also be able to browse a nice selection of other gently used equipment for a large variety of outdoor sports and recreation.

Need bait for your morning ice fishing adventure? Stop on it as they will be able to set you up to pull your next meal up through the hard water as they carry waxies, spikes, suckers and even fatheads.

The shop even offers up classes, such as fly tying. Check out their Facebook page to keep up with what’s happening there.

Stop on in and check out their inventory. From camping to winter sports to fishing to so much more — they seem to have something for every outdoor enthusiast.
