Living in a rural or remote area doesn't mean you can't work from home, or telecommute, to a job in your chosen field.  In fact, a home-based job can give some folks the freedom to live wherever they want--and if that's the case, like it is for the telecommuters we talked to, why not live in the beautiful Upper Peninsula?
