2026 Proactive Grant applications now open at West End Health Foundation

Local nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving access to nutritious food are invited to apply for awards typically ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.

What’s happening: The West End Health Foundation has opened the application window for its Proactive Grant funding. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on June 1, 2026, through the online portal at westendhf.org/grants.

About the grants: Proactive Grant funding is awarded to select nonprofit organizations that provide programs and services
benefiting residents of Marquette County’s West End community. The 2026 grant cycle will prioritize initiatives that address food security, supporting efforts that improve access to reliable, nutritious food. Each year, the Proactive Grant program focuses on a specific health-related theme to support targeted, high-impact initiatives within the community. Grant awards typically range from $1,000 to $10,000, with up to $50,000 in total funding available, depending on available resources.

What they’re saying: “Food security continues to be an important need in our West End communities,” said Kori Bjorne,
who is secretary of the West End Health Foundation. “Through this year’s Proactive Grant cycle, we are prioritizing efforts that strengthen access to nutritious food and support organizations working to meet that need in meaningful, sustainable ways.”
